Pathways & Crossroads

Pathways and Crossroads is the platform of the Department of Political Science and International Relations (PSIR) at TED University for fostering critical inquiry, public engagement, and interdisciplinary dialogue. Rooted in the tradition of the Turkish Education Association - founded to cultivate the intellectual leadership of a young republic and committed to democracy, the rule of law, equality, and societal progress - TEDU PSIR brings theory and practice into meaningful conversation. From long-running initiatives such as the decade-long Pathways to Peace to major forthcoming events like our international and interdisciplinary conference marking the 75th anniversary of the Geneva Convention on Refugees, our activities reflect a dedication to illuminating understudied yet structurally significant dimensions of global politics.

Situated at a literal and metaphorical crossroads in Ankara, the department positions itself where diverse paths meet: those of students, policymakers, diplomats, critical and mainstream perspectives, and alternative and dominant narratives. Through research, teaching, and socially responsible outreach, Pathways and Crossroads embodies our mission to ground politics in the public sphere, foster informed debate, and build bridges between scholarship and policymaking for more just and thoughtful futures.
